Wildlife of Jalpaiguri:
A number of divisions of forest department of Govt. of West Bengal are working over this area. Forests like Gorumara, Chapramari, Jaldapara and Buxa are declared as sanctuaries and national park to protect wildlife.
The area of this sanctuary is 9.60 sq. km. and 70 km. away from Tour to Jalpaiguri. One can get a close view of wildlife, in a glade from the beautiful resthouse inside the sanctuary. Permission for day visit may be received from the Lataguri interpretation centre. Hired vehicle to reach Chapramari is available from Chalsa. It provides a breathtaking view of forests against the backdrop of the Kanchanjangha and other peaks.

This sanctuary is famous for Great Indian One Horned Rhino. The total area of this forest is 216.51 sq. km. Jaldapara is situated near Alipurduar sub-divisional town of Jalpaiguri district . Elephant riding is one of the major attraction of this sanctuary.

This place is arround fifty kilometers away from Jalpaiguri Tours India, fifteen kilometers from Lataguri and ten kilometers from Chalsa and declared as National Park in the year 1949. The area is located in the flood plains of Murti and Jaldhaka river of Dooars region in Jalpaiguri district. Tourists can enjoy wildlife from Jatraprasad and other observatories of Garumara forest. The area of this national park is 79.45 sq. km. It is recomended that visitors hire vehicles from either Chalsa or Lataguri to enter the National park.
